Applicants are selected based on criteria that predict their success in the middle college environment.


Suggested Admission Guidelines For Acceptance Into Kennedy Middle College:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.00 in all c lasses. (Minimum 2.0 GPA is required to take college classes)
  • Desire and commitment to complete college classes.
  • In addition, factors such as motivation, attendance, discipline, maturity level, academic potential, and interest level will be considered in the selection process.


In addition to completing the application, candidates who do not meet the minimum Suggested Admission Guidelines may be asked to

submit teacher/counselor recommendations and/or attend an interview with an administrator.  The administrator will carefully consider the student’s interview along with teacher/counselor recommendations to determine if special circumstances exist which warrant special consideration for admission into the program. 



Students with special needs (English Learners, Special Education Students, 504 Plans etc.) will be considered for admission based on their ability to be successful in Norco College courses. (A current copy of IEP and/or 504 Plans must be included with application.)

Be advised, any student coming from outside of CNUSD will need to obtain an Inter-District Transfer upon acceptance to the JFK program(Includes release from current district and separate Inter-District Transfer Application from CNUSD-Pupil Services (951) 736-5111) AND a copy of your unofficial transcript.

Acknowledgements - CNUSD and Kennedy Middle College opperate within a unique partnership with Norco College.  The following is an explanation of the terms of participating in the JFK program that students and parents/guardians will agree to upon their acceptance to the JFKMCHS program.

For Students:

The Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) guarantees your right to privacy as it applies to your Norco College records.  Uppon acceptance, you will be giving Norco College permission to release your information and official transcripts to Kennedy Middle College.  As a JFK student, I understand and agree to follow all course requirements and enrollment limitations as described in the School/Parent Approval Form established by Norco College (CA Ed Code 76001).

I understand that the primary reason for attending Kennedy Middle College is to enroll in and complete college courses at Norco College. I further understand that I am expected to maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, complete A-G eligibility requirements, and be a student in good standing at Norco College in order to continue in the JFK program.  I understand that I may only enroll in courses at the Norco College campus, and will be limited to 3 units per semester during my Freshman year.

I understand that I am expected to conduct all business and communication with Norco College directly and that my parent will not be able to conduct any business on my behalf with Norco College.



For Parent/Guardian:

I understand that upon my students acceptance to the JFKMCHS program, I will be giving my permission for emergency first aid and treatment for my minor child/legal ward.  I will also give my permission for him/her to be treated by a nurse, physician and/or mental health counselor in the Wellness/Health Centers of Norco College.

I understand that my child intends to register in public college classes that are not specifically designed for students under age 18, and that Corona-Norco Unified School District and Norco College accept no responsibility for any extraordinary supervision of students less than 18 years of age (refer to High School Concurrent Enrollment Policies and Procedures).  Further, I accept responsibility for my child’s behavior while he/she is attending a Norco College class. 

I acknowledge that my child will actually be creating a permanent college academic record at NC, even though he/she is concurrently enrolled at Kennedy Middle College. I also understand that while at NC my child is responsible for resolving issues with instructors, admissions and administration on their own. If a student is unable to resolve an issue at the college on their own, they or their parents should contact the JFK Administration for assistance. Parents may not contact the college.

I understand that the primary reason for attending Kennedy Middle College is to enroll in and complete college courses within the Riverside Community College District. I further understand that my student is expected to maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, complete A-G eligibility requirements, and be a student in good standing at Norco College in order to continue in the JFK program.
