Academic Letters are earned for any JFK fall or spring semester completed with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

In addition to the letter earned, students can represent additional 3.0 and higher semesters with an embroidered bar inserts in Gold (3.50 GPA or higher) or Silver (3.0-3.49 GPA). For example, a student who completes all 3 years at JFK has the opportunity of earn their letter and six bars for all semesters finished at or above a 3.0 GPA.

We are representing classes taken at Norco College with a patch and bars (in either maroon/silver/gold based on their GPA at the time) to represent every 10 units completed. A student that completes 40 units at Norco, would have a Norco patch with four bars in the GPA colors earned.

While we will do our best to notify students of eligibility, some things may slip by. For this reason, any verifications or questions of eligibility can be handled with their counselor. Norco College units and GPA verification are on the honor system due to privacy issues.

Once earned, letters are available to purchase through the JFK Booster Club. Bars are available through Ken’s (see below). Letters orders will be placed two times a year, at the beginning of the school year and early spring (February). Multiple letters are available for purchase as some students would like to have a letter banner or memento box in addition to a jacket or sweater.

Varsity Jackets and Sweaters can be purchased through any vendor of your choosing. For convenience, we do have all the JFK general information (Bars, colors, logo, patches, and placement) on file with Ken’s Sporting Goods, 2610 Hamner Ave., Norco. They are a great resource of all the style variations that are available to suit your student.
