Our Board of Education and Superintendent have taken action to close schools, cancel classes and any student-related activities effective Monday, March 16, 2020. The District will close its schools through Friday, June 19, 2020. In the event that the June 19th date is extended, parents will be notified in advance.
ALERT: CNUSD Families, So you are aware, there is currently a brush fire in the Santa Ana River Bottom on the Jurupa side. Riverview Elementary is in close proximity to the fire, and the evacuation orders of neighborhood houses will prompt the school to be evacuated as a precaution. Riverview Elementary students will be transported to Norco High School, parents should bring proper identification to retrieve students. We are in contact with Cal Fire and there are currently no additional schools affected. We do understand that this fire is affecting air quality in our region and we are recommending inclement weather for our school sites. We will continue to be in close contact with Cal Fire and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department should any new information regarding our schools as it becomes available.
