Los Angeles, CA - Angelina Yang, a senior from Eleanor Roosevelt High School's eSTEM Academy, has made CNUSD proud by securing third place at the International Science & Engineering Fair held last week in Los Angeles. Her remarkable success is complemented by the impressive achievements of her fellow CNUSD student, Harleen Virk, a freshman who also represented the district on this international stage.

Angelina's journey to this prestigious accomplishment began in January at the CNUSD Science & Engineering Fair, where her project won first place in the senior division and she took home the Sweepstakes award. Her exceptional work propelled her project to the Riverside County Science & Engineering Fair in February, where only three projects were selected to advance to the international stage. Remarkably, two out of those three projects were from CNUSD, marking a significant achievement for the district. 

Competing against over 1700 high school students from 67 countries, Angelina, alongside Harleen Virk, presented their projects during a rigorous weeklong judging process. Despite the fierce competition, Angelina's dedication and innovation shone through, earning her a well-deserved third-place award. Harleen Virk also demonstrated exceptional skill and creativity, highlighting the potential and promise of CNUSD's students.

Harleen’s participation as a freshman underscores the bright future of CNUSD’s STEM programs. Her presence at such a high-level competition at this early stage in her academic career is a testament to her potential and the strong foundation provided by CNUSD.
