Corona High Shuts Down Harvard-Westlake to Win Division 1 Championship
LAKE ELSINORE - On Saturday, May 18th, our Corona High Panthers shut down the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines in the CIF Division 1 Championship game, earning a 5-0 victory.
What started off as a battle of the pitchers quickly took a turn when Corona High's Sam Burgess hit a three-run home run, electrifying the crowd and powering Corona to the Division 1 title. UCLA-bound pitcher Ethan Schiefelbein allowed for just two hits, logging nine strikeouts and no walks in the game.
